Vulnerability of Gender Based Physical Spousal Domestic Violence in Benue State, Nigeria

The study accessed the vulnerability of gender based physical spousal domestic violence in Benue State, Nigeria. adopted secondary data from Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) (2018), conducted by National Population Commission analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. Information's sorted were categorized, summarized presented exploratory formats, frequency tables charts. results revealed that (77.4%) respondents had experienced different forms. also perceived spouse's reasons which include suspected infidelity (18.4%) womanizing husband disobedience (15.3%) taking alcohol (9.3%), poverty (9.1%) inability to give birth (suspected infertility) 23 (9.1%). finding further many women ever slapped their husbands (16.4%) while some threw something at (8.4%), kicked dragged husbands, beaten (16.1%) others (19.7%) pushed shook. However, only a few (2.9%) threatened or attacked with weapon. found (61.3%) married who area equally sustained forms injuries include: cuts/ bruises (40.9%), eye (23.1%), dislocations/fracture (12.4%), deep wounds (14.5%) broken teeth (4.3%). finally established seek have help own family (71%), husband’s (21%) religious leader (8%). recommended awareness campaigns legal protection state protect right reduce against area.
